Which is not to say that this is a bad game, far from it. I do feel that its sequels did improve on it. The problem I am having reviewing this is that while it is a great time. It was when it was first released and I feel that it still holds up very well now. It does not feel as basic as I thought it would and I ended up spending quite a few hours with this last weekend so it must be good.Ĭall of Duty: Black Ops is a tremendous game. I was surprised at how well this original Black Ops Zombies Mode holds up. Plowing down hordes of zombies, opening up new areas and getting new weapons is just as addictive here as it is in Black Ops IIII.
They managed to put a bit more “cinematic flare” with this Zombies Mode and as a result, it really is a fantastic experience.

I do feel that Black Ops set the tone for what the series would become. While this was not the first COD game to have a Zombies Mode. You cannot talk about Call Of Duty: Black Ops without talking about Zombies. I actually played through most of the game modes again with my son recently and we had a blast doing so. I found that it kept me guessing the whole time and it was an edge of your seat kind of experience. There are a lot of battle games available today, but Call of Duty lets you see how the franchise started.With a Cold War setting and taking place in locations such as Cuba, The USA, Russia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and even the artic! This is a game that really takes you all over the world. With different levels of game play available, you can start out on the basic level and work your way up to the hardest setting. The game also features a great soundtrack that actually pulls you into the game and makes you feel like you are really there. While its graphics look slightly outdated when compared to modern games, the excitement of bringing down the enemy and saving the world is something you will never forget. Those problems are easy to overlook though because Call of Duty is such a great game. When you get shot just once by the same enemy, you may die and find yourself back at the beginning of the level again. Another issue is that you can shoot those same characters multiple times without inflicting any damage. You'll often find that those characters can keep shooting you without ever running out of bullets.
One problem with Call of Duty is the artificial intelligence used in the creation of your enemies. Some objectives also give you more ammunition. Completing one objective will often unlock a new objective and provide you with cash you can use in the game or new weapons. While some missions are easy to complete, others will take more time and work on your part. To fix those glitches, you must download some of the patches released over the years.Īs with other more modern Call of Duty games, this one gives you a series of objectives or missions that you must complete to advance. There are also glitches with the game that lead to those characters getting in your way or stopping your progress. As you cannot skip those scenes, you'll likely find the characters annoying at times. Those characters often communicate with you and give you tips on fighting, but those characters can sometimes talk too much. Artificial intelligence characters arrive on the scene to assist your character in battles against enemies. This is a first-person shooter game that starts you off in the middle of World War II.
